Can Yobongo Avoid The “Masses Are Punks” Chat Room Problem?

Let’s say I invite you to a chat with me, you, and Bill Gates. Or Steve Jobs. Or Barack Obama. Or your closest personal friend. You pick one. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Now, lets say we invite in 1,000 random people. Wouldn’t your utility go down? Of course it would.
Promising BlackBerry Torch Unveiled

Earlier this week, yet another high-tech smartphone debuted, but unlike many of the devices that have come before it, the BlackBerry Torch doesn’t look like it’ll be old news before the month is out. Many onlookers have admitted to being quite impressed by the specs sheet.
Uploading Audio From Anywhere In The World

If you want to record audio and post your recording to the web, all without anything other than your iPhone or a web browser, it’s never been easier to do that than now.
You’re spoiled for choice with a growing number of web services and iPhone apps, all (currently) free.
Cool Technologies to Check Out

Once again, a Friday release of my 7 cool / useful things… several techy / geeky resources that I’m pleased to share:
My 7 Cool Things Of The Day – SimulTravel, Basic Print, LifeAssist, Wertago, Twellow, and Montana GIS
Cool Gadgets From CES 2009

Day Two of the huge Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and we decided to check out the Central and North halls of the unimaginably massive Las Vegas Convention Center. The Central Hall seemed to be dominated by large tech companies, notably Microsoft, Intel, Motorola, and the like, along with a sprinkling of accessory manufacturers dwelling on the periphery.
The North Hall was in-car audio and mobile audio and devices, which was less well attended and, to my interests, less interesting. More amazing cars and lots of “booth babes” who were dressed exactly as they’d been for the almost cliché mechanic’s calendars they’d posed for in the first place. And lots of guys eager to pose for photos with ‘em, arm firmly in place around their barely clad waists.
Animoto Releases Video Application for iPhone

If you have an iPhone, I advise you to visit the iTunes App Store immediately and install Animoto, a free app and one of the coolest I’ve yet seen for iPhone.
Learning the Ins and Outs of Apple’s iPhone 3G

Over the past few years, I’ve had great enjoyment from a wide range of devices – ones I’ve either purchased myself or which have been given or loaned to me by companies via their PR agencies – which I’ve written posts or produced video reviews about, recently over on Next, my tech blog.
The latest device I have for such a purpose is an iPhone 3G which arrived by courier late on Friday evening, thus giving me much of the weekend to get to know it a bit.
Cocomo Public Beta Released

Adobe today announced the Cocomo public beta, a technology which allows developers to add real-time social capabilities into their web applications.
Cocomo basically leverages the Adobe Connect back-end to deliver features such as Data Messaging (think traditional Remote SharedObjects), VoIP Audio, Webcam Video, File Sharing, Text Chat and so on. The tool is provided in shape of a developer framework and component set that can be used to build Flex based applications.
Don’t Get Lost Again With An Indoor Positioning Location System

An innovative Indoor positioning location system is being designed by Nokia (Research). Via way of the way cool Legends promotion, I was notified of some cool research being conducted by the Nokia Research arm – indoor positioning.
